Shopping For Kalli
The big day is getting closer and closer. I'm now on my 32nd week - I think (sheeesh, I lost count already!). But if I'm right, which most probably I am, then I'm on my 8th month now and we still have a lot of things to prepare!
We already started buying Kalli's things a few weeks ago. It was so much fun buying baby stuff! Everything's so small and cute, you'd want to buy almost everything. And of course we wanted to buy the best for little Kalli. So many pretty things - clothes, bottles, toys, blankets, booties... Then again there is what we call a BUDGET, and that pretty much hindered us from buying ALL the things we wanted. Still, we had a pretty good start...
We're still a long way to completing all of the things she will need. Gosh, I never imagined we needed to buy her so many! There was this list of things to prepare given to us during the Parenting 101 seminar we attended at Medical City, and it was a lot.
Here's the list, incase you want to know:
1) Equipment / Furniture - pillows, comfortable chair, crib, nightlight, wash tub, car seat, stroller
2) Layette - pajama sets, shirts, sweater, bonnets, mittens, socks or booties, receiving blankets, diapers
3) Toiletries and First Aid Kit - baby soap, baby shampoo, cotton balls and buds, towel, wash cloth, nail scissors/file, digital thermometer, nasal aspirator, 70% isopropyl alcohol, heating pad or warm water bag
4) Hospital Bag - mom's clothes, abdominal binder, maxi pads, toiletries, baby rooming-in and going-home clothes
Anyhoo, this week we bought a major item for Kalli, and we're quite happy about it :) Our baby's got wheels! It's an SUV type four-wheel-drive vehicle, ideal for bumpy roads and rough terrains. It's got these really big tires - just how her daddy likes it :) Now she can be on the go anytime! Plus, we're also assured that she will not get bullied during baby rush hour traffic. Just let those other baby strollers try to take on that 15-pounder monster truck of hers! Hehehe, not that there's such a thing as a baby rush hour traffic. But still, if there is, Kalli will be ready for it ;b
Ok, the reason why her stroller is a bit bigger than the usual ones is because we bought her a stroller-carrier-carseat all-in-one (as you can see in the picture). We wanted to buy her a Chicco or a Graco brand, but they were so expensive (11,000 - 20,000!) we didn't think it was worth it - although they really looked quite nice. In the end we settled for a Baby First stroller, which I think is somewhere in the middle price-wise.
It's a bit bulky and heavy, but Kalli will look so cool in it! Oh I can't wait to go strolling with her! Leo and I were even playing "pretend" with the stroller already, hahaha. It's so exciting!
