PINK IS FOR KALLI! This blog will probably be about baby Kalli for a while so we've decided to change the theme :) You can read about our wedding at http://startingourforever.blogspot.com

Wedding, Birthdays, and Baby

Leo and I went to Haya and Jay's wedding last October 15. The ceremony was held at the Parish of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Quezon City and the reception was held at Blue Gardens at Commonwealth. That was convenient for us since it was near our place - relatively. Blue Gardens was originally a big house converted into a function venue.

The ceremony was simple and elegant - very Haya :) Even her gown and HMU was so her! I could imagine how much work (and stress) she has put into the preparations and I am happy that it turned out so well. And to think she didn't even have a coordinator! But her family and friends helped out so everything went smoothly :) I especially love the taho and sorbetes stations at the reception, yum yum! And of course it was good to see the barkada there - all dressed up with their partners (and babies!). My, but we're growing! ;) CONGRATULATIONS and BEST WISHES to Haya and Jay!

It was also my sister's birthday last saturday but she celebrated her special day at Boracay with friends. They availed of the airline promo early on and got their round-trip tickets for only 1,600 pesos! Good deal huh ;) Hmmm, maybe I'll do an out-of-town birthday too someday :) BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LA (and BERNARD too)!

By the way, Kalli is now 2.28 kilograms at 35 weeks in the womb according to the ultrasound. What's that, around 5 lbs? Doctor said that was normal so all is good with baby and me :) They said I can give birth as early as 2 weeks from now. Yikes, I'm scared! Hehehe... I'll endure :)

Here are some more pics from the wedding...

Well that's it. Until next post!

New Blog Theme

So Leo doesn't like the new theme. It's too pink, masakit daw sa mata, ahahaha! I'll probably be changing it again soon. For now, it goes well with Kalli's clothes so I'll let it be. And besides, I'm running out of creative ideas on how to prettify this blog.

Anyhoo, I noticed a lot of the hits are from wedding stuff searches so I've decided to copy all the wedding related entries into another blog - for easier browsing. You can view it at http://startingourforever.blogspot.com. Of course this will still be our main blog, and the wedding entries are still here too. It's just that I'll be changing the blog's look once in a while so I thought it'd be nice to have a separate one for the wedding (to keep pictures and stuff). Anyhoo, you can link to that blog too if you like :)

That's it for me for now. Kalli's still hyperactive and I'm finding it hard to stay seated for long.

Until next post!

Kalli's Playtime

It's the middle of the night and, as usual, Kalli is not letting me sleep. It seems this is her favorite play time - sometime between 11pm-1am. This is the time when she does her kicking and turning and rolling and pulling most vigorously - atleast that's what I'm imagining her to be doing, hehehe. Wish I have my own ultrasound too, just like Tom Cruise. Then again I'm not really sure if a daily dose of ultrasound is 100% safe on the baby.

Anyhoo, Kalli's movements are a lot stronger now - even painful most of the time :( There are times when I'm not even sure if it's really Kalli or if it's actually contractions i'm feeling. Frankly I'm not really sure how contractions feel like. I even have this little fear that I will not be able to recognize when I'm in labor and will end up not getting to the hospital on time. How horrible is that?! Then again, I seem to have a much lower tolerance for pain lately so maybe I'll end up going to the hospital on false labor :( Oh well, better that than the first, right?

Kalli still hasn't finished her playing. Now it's a periodic bumping or pulling, and it's knocking off my breath. It's a little painful and so so so tiring :( Is she pulling her umbilical cord??? Or maybe she's already practicing walking on the uterus walls -- except she's actually stomping and not walking! Hehehe, what a mother endures!

Still, despite the pain, I prefer her to be this active than not active at all. I know she's healthy and strong, and I'm happy and grateful for that. I can't wait to see her!

Just another month to go...

Shopping For Kalli

The big day is getting closer and closer. I'm now on my 32nd week - I think (sheeesh, I lost count already!). But if I'm right, which most probably I am, then I'm on my 8th month now and we still have a lot of things to prepare!

We already started buying Kalli's things a few weeks ago. It was so much fun buying baby stuff! Everything's so small and cute, you'd want to buy almost everything. And of course we wanted to buy the best for little Kalli. So many pretty things - clothes, bottles, toys, blankets, booties... Then again there is what we call a BUDGET, and that pretty much hindered us from buying ALL the things we wanted. Still, we had a pretty good start...

We're still a long way to completing all of the things she will need. Gosh, I never imagined we needed to buy her so many! There was this list of things to prepare given to us during the Parenting 101 seminar we attended at Medical City, and it was a lot.

Here's the list, incase you want to know:
1) Equipment / Furniture - pillows, comfortable chair, crib, nightlight, wash tub, car seat, stroller
2) Layette - pajama sets, shirts, sweater, bonnets, mittens, socks or booties, receiving blankets, diapers
3) Toiletries and First Aid Kit - baby soap, baby shampoo, cotton balls and buds, towel, wash cloth, nail scissors/file, digital thermometer, nasal aspirator, 70% isopropyl alcohol, heating pad or warm water bag
4) Hospital Bag - mom's clothes, abdominal binder, maxi pads, toiletries, baby rooming-in and going-home clothes

Anyhoo, this week we bought a major item for Kalli, and we're quite happy about it :) Our baby's got wheels! It's an SUV type four-wheel-drive vehicle, ideal for bumpy roads and rough terrains. It's got these really big tires - just how her daddy likes it :) Now she can be on the go anytime! Plus, we're also assured that she will not get bullied during baby rush hour traffic. Just let those other baby strollers try to take on that 15-pounder monster truck of hers! Hehehe, not that there's such a thing as a baby rush hour traffic. But still, if there is, Kalli will be ready for it ;b

Ok, the reason why her stroller is a bit bigger than the usual ones is because we bought her a stroller-carrier-carseat all-in-one (as you can see in the picture). We wanted to buy her a Chicco or a Graco brand, but they were so expensive (11,000 - 20,000!) we didn't think it was worth it - although they really looked quite nice. In the end we settled for a Baby First stroller, which I think is somewhere in the middle price-wise.

It's a bit bulky and heavy, but Kalli will look so cool in it! Oh I can't wait to go strolling with her! Leo and I were even playing "pretend" with the stroller already, hahaha. It's so exciting!
